Maisie 3Margaret Roffe has been a Parish Councillor for Beeston Regis since 2002 and upon the sudden death of the chairman Les Lay in Sept 2005, Margaret was elected as Chairman in 2005 which she stood down from in 2007, when her husband became ill.
Margaret is a qualified nurse and was a district nurse in Lincolnshire before she and her husband moved to Norfolk in 1979, where they owned and ran a Residential Home for people with learning disabilities.
When Chairman, Margaret started the ‘Beeston Regis News’, began the ‘No Cold Calling’, started the Bottle Bank, planted trees and bulbs on the village green areas, became Norfolk District Council LAP Scrutiny Board member. She was also a board member of the Sheringham Area Partnership and Area Forum Rep.
Her portfolio is Health Authority Rep (helped fight against the closure of Cromer Hospital) and she runs the Village clean-up and yearly bulb planting.
In her spare time Margaret, a committed Christian, is Worship Leader, Pastoral Visitor and Mission Team Member at St Andrew’s Methodist Church, Sheringham.
